OUR MISSION

True Light Christian School equips children to excel in a life that is pleasing to God by accepting the authority of God’s Word, demonstrating Christ-like character, developing their academic potential, and identifying their God-given gifts.

OUR BELIEFS

  1. The Bible is the guide to truth and life.
  2. Parents have the primary responsibility for educating their children. Our school exists to aid parents in performing this responsibility.
  3. The primary purpose of the school is to assist parents in bringing their children to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ by helping their children develop godly character and instilling in their children a desire to live in obedience to God’s Word.
  4. The secondary purpose of the school is to assist parents in equipping their children in the basic knowledge and skills to serve God and others in the world.
  5. Each child is a unique creation of God with individual and special talents.
  6. Our school’s testimony and reputation should bring glory to God.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

Our statement of faith focuses upon core beliefs common to churches that honor Christ:
  1. We believe the Bible to be the only inerrant, authoritative Word of God. II Timothy 3:16
  2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19
  3. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. 1 John 1:3; Matthew 1:23-25; Hebrew 4:15; John 10:38; Romans 3:25; I Corinthians 15; Acts 1:9-11
  4. We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful men, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely necessary. Titus 3:5
  5. We believe that salvation is by grace through faith alone. Ephesians 2:8-9
  6. We believe that faith without works is dead. James 2:14-22
  7. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. Acts 1:8; 2:38-39; Romans 8:13-14
  8. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they who are saved to the resurrection of life, and they who are lost to the resurrection of damnation. Matthew 25:41; II Thessalonians 1:9
  9. We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. John 17:20-23; Ephesians 4:4-6

OUR GOALS

  • Integrate the Bible in each subject area.
  • Promote parent-school communication.
  • Enlist direct parent involvement through prayer, time, and financial support.
  • Guide each child in coming to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Offer Bible study that promotes the development of godly character.
  • Promote respect for authority in the home, school, church, and state.
  • Give opportunity for daily prayer and praise.
  • Help each child develop good study habits.
  • Help each child develop the ability and desire to continue learning throughout life.
  • Help each child develop basic knowledge and skills in an orderly fashion.
  • Identify each child’s individual needs and encourage their special talents.
  • Allow for each child’s uniqueness in the educational process.
  • Evaluate each child’s progress on a regular basis.
  • Maintain a sound fiscal policy.
  • Maintain plans for tuition assistance and fundraising.
  • Ensure that enrollment and hiring policies are racially non-discriminatory.
  • Bring glory to God through community service.
  • Care for the physical plant and property of the school.
We really appreciate that True Light puts such an emphasis on prayer, worship, and the Word of God while maintaining excellent academics. We believe it is important as parents to 'train up a child in the way they should go,' and we appreciate how True Light works to instill the same values as we are teaching at home.
