True Light Foundation logo
Launching to the public in 2020, True Light Foundation was created as a place where marketing, fundraising, and investing come together under one entity that exists solely to support the school. The foundation's primary goal is to bring financial stability and sustainability to the school, while enabling it to grow and impact greater numbers of students and families. This new entity is aptly named the True Light Foundation.
As we build the True Light Foundation, we hope you'll join us in creating a stronger, better place for children learning and growing in Christ. This is our next step in leaving a legacy for Southwest Minnesota.
True Light Foundation is currently lead by Matt Bemer and a board of directors comprised of Tim Gross, Elly Sprik, Melinda Meier, and Corey Prins. For more information email office@truelight.foundation.

Endowment

We are currently raising funds to establish an endowment. This a huge undertaking for the school and the main reason for creating our foundation is to specifically handle this and fundraising.
If you haven't heard of an endowment, it's an investing vehicle that can provide funds to our school forever. It's similar to a 401(k) or IRA, but with no target end date. Money is invested and we're able to use a portion of the interest every year to pay for various things. Think of this with a forever mindset- donations will produce interest for the school forever.
This is definitely a long-term strategy, especially for financial sustainability. If you have any questions please reach out to us! office@truelight.foundation

Fundraising

Though the endowment is the foundation's #1 goal, it is also just one part of the school's fundraising strategy. While the endowment is for the long term, there are short-term needs that need to be continually met. For example, we have yearly tuition assistance needs that the Promise Banquet helps fund.
Bringing all fundraising under one entity will allow us to be more strategic and effective. It allows short- and long-term visions to come together.

Marketing

The foundation is also focusing on marketing to communicate with you more clearly, consistently, and in a timely manner. As we add more family and friends to the school, it's increasingly important to create effective communication. We hope you'll notice the difference as we evolve!
