True Light Christian School trains students, not only through Bible classes, but through weekly chapels, to grab truth and stand on what it says. These weekly chapels give students the opportunity to hear from different staff and community members who use skits, stories, and practical examples to share about their perspectives on at week's character verse, their testimonies and teach the character of God.
Chapel is also a time to recognize students who demonstrate the weekly character trait through True Light Awards. Students are exposed to missions, outreach, evangelism, and solid biblical teaching. Student-and-staff-led prayer and worship provide an atmosphere of unity. Throughout the year, Chapel also provides a way for the staff to introduce a spiritual emphasis for the year and showcase missionaries.

WEEKLY CHARACTER VERSES
Weekly character verses emphasize a Godly character trait with a scripture verse for students to memorize and apply to their lives. These character traits are spotlighted during Bible class and weekly Chapel.
TRUE LIGHT AWARDS
True Light Awards are given weekly to students who demonstrate during school and their activities the weekly character trait. Award recipients are chosen by staff. Staff use these awards to not only recognize exceptional students, but to encourage character even in students who might be struggling.
MISSIONS MONTH
Missions Month happens in January each year. At each weekly chapel, missionary speakers are brought in to share about how God has called them to their ministry and their testimonies of what God has done.
SPIRITUAL EMPHASIS WEEK

Spiritual Emphasis week occurs annually in September. Each year, the staff develops a theme with four main points that are emphasized throughout each quarter of the academic year. Spiritual Emphasis week is an opportunity to dig deep into the theme and main points to show their application to everyday life and draw students and staff to a deeper relationship with the Lord. With daily chapels and outside speakers, True Light uses this week to focus on the True Light, Jesus.
The theme for 2019-20 is "Engaging Hearts," where our children and parents are encouraged to develop deeper relationships with each other and God. Through this, we will help the children realize their gifts from God. This theme focuses on Malachi 4:6a: "And He will turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the hearts of the children to their parents; or else I will come and strike the land with total destruction."

Chapel at True Light Christian School was an incredible atmosphere. Watching your peers surrender their hearts to the Lord along with your teachers was kind of surreal. It was an environment of unity. Watching the Holy Spirit move through the hearts of those in attendance made me never want to leave. I truly miss chapel on Friday mornings.
